There are many birds and I thought that there would be a different number of birds at different times of day. I think that there would be more birds during the night then in the morning or afternoon. I think that there are more in the night but are harder to see and
Hypothesis:I think that birds will show up more in the night because there are less predators around.
procedure:
Fill up bird feeder with sunflower seeds.
watch birds from 7-7:30 am and count the number of birds that appear.
Refill bird feeder with sunflower seeds.
Watch birds from 12-12:30 pm and count the number of birds that appear.
Refill bird seeder with sunflower seeds.
watch birds from 5- 5:30 and count the number of birds that appear.
continue for 5 days.
observations:
During the First day, there weren't many birds that came to the feeder.
materials: bird seeds, bird seeder.
Independent variable: Time of day.
Dependent variable: Number of birds that appear at feeder.
Results and Data:

end of project
avg. 3.4 birds
avg.3.2 birds
avg.3 birds
Conclusion: There was a small number of birds out during my project. I think that the whether affected the number of birds that came to my feeder. The average of the birds showing up at different times were very similar but I think that if this was done when there were more birds and I observed for a longer time, it would change a lot.
